Identity

Identity.

Do you know Who Jesus is?

He is…

The Lord God Almighty

Prince of Peace

Creator of Everything

Large and in Charge

One True Living God

King of Glory

Reigning Majesty

Now…

Do you know who He says you are?

a gold and silver mask

You are…

His creation

A child of the King

Daughter of Destiny

Prince

Priesthood

A chosen generation

A temple for the Most High

You matter…

Every hair is counted

Fearfully and wonderfully made

A little lower than the angels

Important member of His Body

Loved to His Death

Called for His Purpose

A Home prepared simply for you!

Identity

Not what YOU think!

Not who YOU say!

You are not your own

It is His Say!

His Purpose!

What He has Called!

Cleaned and Washed

A living sacrifice unto God.

Identity

Sure…

You are man or woman

Adult or child

Father or mother

Son or daughter

Grandparent

Taxi driver

Teacher

Writer

Delivery man

Pizza person

Mechanic

Business owner

Stone mason

Electrician

These are our ‘natural’ roles.

Yes, where our light can shine!

Identity

However.

Everyone also has a Kingdom Purpose.

Even beyond these daily roles.

What is yours?

Yes.  The five-fold ministry.

Apostle

Prophet

Evangelist

Pastor

Teacher

We all can consider spiritual gifts.

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom;

To another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

To another faith by the same Spirit;

To another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

To another the working of miracles;

To another prophecy;

To another discerning of spirits;

To another divers kinds of tongues;

To another the interpretation of tongues:

But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit,

Dividing to every man severally as he will

I Corinthians 12:8-10

There is also

Gift of helps

Gift of government (leadership).

(I Corinthians 12:28)

For I would that all men were even as I myself.

But every man hath his proper gift of God,

One after this manner,

and another after that

I Corinthians 7:7

Let’s go in other, less conventional, areas.

Shall we?

One may reach out a loving hand to the homeless

Another is the repairer of the breach

An encourager to all

A deep student of the Word

Mother-in-Israel birthing babies

Intercessor

Spiritual warfare soldier

Do you know who you are?

Identity

Some are a friend to all😉

Others will share the Word with the strangers they meet.

The quiet may simply be a bright light in the community.

Introverts may spend hours weeping for the lost.

Extroverts spend every day interacting with people.

Yes…

ALL will live the Christ-like life!

ALL will pray!

ALL will read the Word!

But the Lord calls us to more!

Much more!

Identity

First

We need to know HIS Will.

Not what we are comfy with

But our God-given Purpose.

Then…

We must embrace!

Often people receive a call

Through prayer or prophecy

Then they wait!?!

I find this frustrating☹

The Almighty does not sprinkle magic dust.

(We don’t do magic, remember😉

And we all know that some things are about His Timing.

But there is always something for us to do.

Pray. Fast. Study.

Seek His Face.

Know His Will.

Then EMBRACE

Who HE says you are!

Commit to the disciplines that apply.

Welcome every opportunity

Live it out!

In private and in public.

John the Baptist

So different

Yet he proclaimed the Kingdom of God was at hand.

David was anointed king

But first he was a shepherd boy

Giant killer

Worshipper.

Nehemiah

Repairer of the walls.

Paul

Apostle. Teacher. Scholar.

Peter

Impetus as he was😊

Had amazing risky faith!

Jacob…the go getter.

Moses

Now that is a full load!!!

Elijah

Intense. Solitude. Prophet. Mentor.

Jeremiah

Without wife or child

A weeper for the nations.

Esther. Lydia. Deborah.

Daniel. Joshua. Gideon.

Caleb

A man of another spirit.

Hosea

Harlot rescuer.

They all had faults and failures.

But God!!!

Identity

His Purpose

His Call

His Identity for each of us.

It is not what the naysayers think.

Oh, hold on, honey! 😉

It is not even about what YOU think!

C’mon!

It is ALL about the Almighty!

The King of Glory!

Please! I plead with you.

Don’t be a Jonah

Running from the Call of God.

Do it.

Be it.

Live it.

In Jesus’ Name

The Kingdom of God wants YOU!
