Our Prospector

Sees Precious Gold

Within each of us

He is Ever-Working.

Digging for that Precious Gold.

Treasure Chest

Behold, I go forward,

But he is not there;

And backward,

But I cannot perceive him:

On the left hand, where he doth work,

But I cannot behold him:

He hideth himself on the right hand,

That I cannot see him:

But he knoweth the way that I take:

When he hath tried me,

I shall come forth as gold

Job 23:8-10
Our Prospector

Where are you today, my friend?

What lies before you, child?

Does loneliness grip the soul?

Is sickness keeping the body low?

Misunderstood? Afraid? Frustrated?

Just plan “stuck” in the mulligrubs?

GOD knows where we are at

“Oh no! that’s not possible.”

For HE cannot be found, you say!

For a fact!

Desperate cries have gone forth

The Lord did not hear!

Tears soak the pillow.

No one came to wipe them away.

Then we have told ourselves.

Oh yes, we have!

And even others

“It’s all good!”

“I am fine.”

“Gods got it.”

Yet in the head…

Oh, let us say!

The beating of the heart!

Even the ache of the soul!

With turmoil we shout!

But please! Someone tell me…

Where is MY God?!

For I cannot find Him.

To the left? No!

Right? Not there either.

Perhaps behind? Ah. Nope.

And so, we endeavor.

We battle for better disciplines.

(And yes! That is needful.)

Adjustments to our attitudes.

(For sure. Kill the flesh.)

Somehow, we know…

This is ALL so needful!

But Wow! Really?!

The Word states,

YOU never leave me, nor forsake me!

Then WHERE are You?

Please stop the hide n’ seek

Our Prospector

He sees the Gold.

We come before Him,

Especially at these times.

Our crying hard, strong, and deep!

And God is “sifting” through those tears.

That is God’s Prospector “Classifier”.

The Lord sees a sparkle or two.

Like Grandma sifting flour to bake with.

Precious Gold in the tears that we shed.

Jesus next tool is the “Snuffer Bottle”.

Sucking up the Sparkles He caught in the Classifier (Sifter).

In time, He will squeeze those Sparkles of Precious Gold…

On a soul in need.

Through deep intercessory prayer.

Using them for empathy toward His hurting child.

Our Prospector

Most days we can feel His “Scoop”.

Like we envision a child in the sand.

The Lord takes His Deep Scoop.

He moves out the dirt of our flesh.

He understands some tiny Nuggets…

Get buried in the sand of our flesh.

Other times God gets out…

That great big “Spade”.

Oh!!! He digs deep inside.

Down in the dark places.

Using Tools we don’t like.

Trials. Tribulations. Suffering.

It hurts!!!

Pain is great!

The Almighty may get out His “Sluice Box”.

Using His Spade

Dumping our dirt into The Sluice Box.

Pouring His Spirit over its content.

Sorting through the dirt with The Word of God.

Pushing us with prayer and fasting.

C’mon! My child

I see Nuggets!

Our prospector

Sometimes we want the Lord to simply…

BLAST!!!

Maybe a big storm,

A huge avalanche,

Whatever it must be!

Let’s get it over with.

Simply “blast” out all the dirt.

Let the Gold come to the surface all at once.

For goodness’ sake

And though ‘blasting’ moments take place.

Most often it is the daily Sifting.

One scoop at a time.

A little sifting here…there.

Day by day

Of course…

We are content with a few Nuggets.

Yet the Master Smith

Sees much more Gold than you and I!

Gold, He needs for His Kingdom!

our prospector

And then, my dear friends.

Perhaps the most difficult?!

The Refining of each Precious Nugget of Gold!

The Heat is turned up!

His Timer set!

From time to time…

Jesus pulls us out from the Fire.

Can He see His Reflection in the Gold?

If not yet, then the Gold is placed back in the Heat.

Heat?! What is that?

Each of us is unique.

Every Nugget of Gold is special, too.

Our Prospector knows…

Different types of Fire.

Certain intensities.

Even the length of Time.

God does ALL things well.

He is the Master Smith.

The Lord ALWAYS knows Best.

For each of us

And every Nugget that He flushes out of our being.

Often… Somewhere…

In all this Process

We sense that He has deserted us.

The Lord is Nowhere to be found

But take heart, my friends.

He never leaves, nor forsakes.

We may not “find” Jesus,

But Jesus knows right where we are!

Trust

Our Prospector

For our Gold

Will come forth Pure and Holy

Fit for the Master’s Use!
