Prayerlessness

“Little Prayer

            Little Power.

Much Prayer

            Much Power.”

E.M. Bounds

Man Praying

Prayerlessness

What kept you from prayer?

Last week?

Yesterday?

If our calendars are so busy

That there is no time for prayer

Then are calendars are too full!

If the day is overflowing

Yet there is no time for prayer

Then our day is too full!

Business will only prosper

With much prayer!

Ministries are only of God

If they are saturated

With prayer!

Music is a talent

But prayer makes it Worship!

Relationships flourish

Only with great prayer!

Finances are kept

By Divine Inspirational Prayer!

Prayerlessness

Writing about prayer

Is but good.

Praying is Best!

Talking over prayer concepts

Can be beneficial.

Yet doing prayer

Brings Divine Concept.

Preaching about prayer

Is fine.

But preaching to lives

Already full of prayer

Brings Great Revelations!

Reading articles and books

Of prayer

Can encourage us

However

The actuality of doing prayer

Will teach more than man’s books.

Prayerlessness

Sleep is needful

But true Rest comes through prayer!

Entertainment is fun

Yet Joy comes

In the morning of prayer!

Sunshine warms the body

But prayer makes The Son

Warm our soul!

Teach a child to pray😊

Pray with a sick friend😉

Breathe a prayer over a home😊

Prayerlessness

Perhaps the most neglected principle

Of saints, churches, and nations

Is Prayer!

Early morning prayer is still good.

But adding throughout the day is better.

Yet how many times

Do we think a spirit of prayer

Fulfills the deep, agonizing prayer

That brings a soul to their knees

Causes a nation to repent

Brings Revival to the Church.

What happened to prayer meetings?

In our churches?

Home prayer meetings?

Family altars of prayer?

Scheduled

Spontaneous

The prayer meetings

Of the Great Awakenings

Azuza Street

Topeka, Kansas

Wait!!!

The Book of Acts

Began with a Divine Inspired

Prayer Meeting!

Prayer Meetings lasting

Hours, days, weeks, etc.

Prayer that happened every noontime

Where businessmen and women

Showed up

Simply to Pray!

We do well to pray a few minutes

Maybe an hour.

All night prayer

Went by the wayside.

Why?!

We are tired.

Busy!

There is time to watch a movie.

Scroll our phones.

Talk silly with friends.

Yet there is no time for Prayer!

Shame on us!

A ministry.

Craft projects.

Decorating our homes.

Going here and there.

Meeting at the restaurant.

Shop til you drop.

Where is prayer?!

Prayerlessness

You want a Deep relationship with the Almighty?

Pray!

Do we want our churches to be full to overflow?

Pray!

Are we really looking for His Return?

Pray!

Have a heart for prodigals?

Pray!

Want to see a Global Harvest?

Pray!

The need of laborers is great

But we must pray!

Miracles, signs and wonders?

Pray!

Be a Light that shines in darkness?

Pray!

We all want to experience these and more

Yet we are satisfied to pray a little

And a little blessing is simply what we will receive.

Prayerlessness

Everything is scheduled.

So much so

That if God calls for a few extra minutes of prayer

Or another segment of the day for prayer

We don’t take the time

It would seem we “don’t have” the time.

Can you imagine that we tell the King?

“Sorry. I don’t have time to spend in Your Throne Room.”

Well. Of course. He understands. Yes, He does.

He realizes

More than we do

That in reality

He is not First and Foremost.

He is not really our Commander and Chief.

You see, my friend.

We excuse ourselves by saying how human we are.

In truth we justify our choices.

Perhaps we should not fool ourselves

For we are not fooling Jesus

May our actions speak louder than our words.

Pray More!

In order to have

More Power!

To do

To be

To live

His Kingdom Come

His Will be done

In, through, and with us

His People

For this Hour!

Let us not excuse

Prayerlessness
