The Chase
My soul followeth hard after thee:
Thy right hand upholdeth me.

The Chase
As a deer pants for flowing streams,
so pants my soul for you, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God,
for the living God.

The Chase is on!!!
Day in and day out!
Running hard!
All my days!
Pray
Fast
Dream
Meditate
Seek
Cry out☹
Over and over
Again, and again
Like a winded child
I stop to breathe and go again.
I WILL chase the Lord!
I admit.
I looked time and again.
For others
Who would make up their minds
To enter
This Chase
Some came but for a time
In weariness
Full of distractions
Out of breath
They gave up☹
Some thought me
Nothing but weird
And they may be right.
Others considered
At least for a moment.
But most simply said
“That is for you.
Not for me.”
But like the Shulammite woman
(Song of Solomon)
I may need to go through the streets,
Across the meadow.
Others may not know where He is.
Yet The Chase will continue.
More prayer
More power
Much prayer
Much power
More importantly
Much prayer
Much Relationship!!!
Some fasted meals
More meals fasted
Because the More Jesus
The more I must die!
(as did Paul)
Skinned knees
Parched lips
Torn clothing
Hurt feelings
Running hard
Like the deer
Tripping
Falling
Yet nothing is too much to bear.
Yes. It is true.
I have spoken of this before.
The Hot Pursuit
Of many in the Bible.
The sacrifices of a disciple.
Hear me now!
I do not have this mastered.
I am simply
Not willing to give up
Regardless.
The Chase
Before you “jump” at the chance
To enter this Chase
Let me remind you of a few things.
We must Get Out of complacency…
And choose to Stay Out of complacency!
We must leave the Comfort Zone…
And choose not to go back to the Zone
No matter how uncomfortable we get!
We may be misunderstood.
Thought to be crazy and weird
(even by some brothers/sisters in the Lord)
Lose friends.
Make conversations awkward.
There are great storms!
Horrible beasts!
Smothering darkness!
The Chase means…
Suffering
Sacrifice
Solitude
Repentance!
Everyday death to me!
With no longing to go back!
But Wait!
There comes a point
When it is not simply
In Hot Pursuit of Jesus
But Jesus begins to Pursue us
Like no one else
We will “see” things others don’t “see”
Experience what others do not
!!! We will Know His Heart!!!
!!! We will Pray His Prayers!!!
Praying with the Lord
Not to the Lord.
!!! We will have an Amazing Level of Intimacy with The Almighty!!!
Like the apostles
It may be that our shadow is anointed by
The Chase
Until the sick is healed.
Like Moses
Our face will glow from the Glory
Received in The Chase.
As we walk through the store
They will recognize an Anointing
And understand Jesus can Touch them
Right where we are.
Please! Don’t get me wrong.
I am Not in The Chase
For the miracles, signs, and wonders.
I Pursue Jesus Alone!
And Please!
Don’t seek The Chase
For the gifts.
Seek The Master.
But in This Chase
When The Almighty
Begins to Chase me
Then He can use me to His Will
Whenever
Wherever
Whomever
However
The Chase
Is not about religion
It is about Relationship!
Not self-conscious
but God Consciousness!
It is ALL about the Almighty
And what He does with
The Chasers
Is completely up to Him!
