The Lord’s Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer

After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done in earth,

As it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

As we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom,

And the power,

And the glory, for ever.

Amen.

Matthew 6:9-13

The Lord’s Prayer

After this manner therefore pray ye: (v. 9a)

When we know not what to prayer.

You, O Lord, have given us Direction.

This Pattern of Prayer is Kingdom Minded

And addresses everything of importance.

We know if we seek Ye first,

All other things will come😉

But seek ye first

The kingdom of God,

And his righteousness;

And all these things shall be added unto you

Matthew 6:33

If our known tongue seems inadequate,

To express our heart’s desire

Your Spirit maketh intercession for us😊

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:

For we know not what we should pray for as we ought:

But the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us

With groanings which cannot be uttered.

And he that searcheth the hearts

Knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,

Because he maketh intercession for the saints

According to the will of God

Romans 8:26-27

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name. (v. 9b)

O my Lord!

We Bless Your Holy Name!

God, You are Great and Greatly to be praised!

O LORD our Lord,

How excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Who hast set thy glory above the heavens

Psalm 8:1

The Lord’s Prayer

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done in earth,

As it is in heaven (v. 10)

Regardless of our ‘whine’

Let THY Will be done!

In us, through us, and with us😉

Every area and every aspect.

And he that searcheth the hearts

Knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,

Because he maketh intercession for the saints

According to the will of God.

And we know that all things

Work together for good

To them that love God,

To them who are the called

According to his purpose

Romans 8:27-28

We completely trust You, Almighty One!

You do ALL things Well!

I will not worry.

All anxiety is cast down before You.

My prayer will be…

Nevertheless…

Not my will.

But Thine! Be done! (See Luke 22:42.)

The Lord’s Prayer

Give us this day our daily bread (v. 11)

Jesus.

You know our every need

Even before we ask😉

Lord God Almighty

YOU feed the fowls of the air!

YOU dress the lilies!

YOU clothe the grass of the field!

How much more do YOU care for us?!

O ye of little faith?

Therefore take no thought, saying,

What shall we eat? or,

What shall we drink? or,

Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:)

For your heavenly Father

Knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow:

For the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.

Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof

Matthew 6:30b-32, 34

We will seek You and Your Kingdom.

No worry. No anxiety.

You will meet our every need.

The Lord’s Prayer

And forgive us our debts,

As we forgive our debtors (v. 12)

Our righteousness is as filthy rags.

The spirit is willing

But the flesh is weak.

We need Your Forgiveness.

Daily.

From that time Jesus began to preach,

And to say, Repent:

For the kingdom of heaven is at hand

Matthew 4:17

Yet we understand…

For if ye forgive men their trespasses,

(Our) heavenly Father will also forgive (us):

But if (we) forgive not men their trespasses,

Neither will (our) Father forgive (our) trespasses

Matthew 6:14-15

Give us the heart and spirit of Stephen.

And he kneeled down,

And cried with a loud voice,

Lord, lay not this sin to their charge.

And when he had said this, he fell asleep

Acts 7:60

The Lord’s Prayer

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil: (v. 13a)

Cover us with Your Blood!

Give us discernment

To know the workings

Of our flesh, the world, and demonic forces.

There hath no temptation taken (us)

But such as is common to man:

But God is faithful,

Who will not suffer (us) to be tempted

Above that (we) are able;

But will with the temptation

Also make a way to escape,

That (we) may be able to bear it

I Corinthians 10:13

You make a Way

Even where there seemeth to be no way!

That we shall overcome!

Live Victoriously!

For (we) know the thoughts that (YOU) think toward (us),

(Lord. You…)

Have thoughts of peace, and not of evil,

To give us an expected end.

Then shall (we) call upon (You),

And (we) shall go and pray unto (You),

And (You) will hearken unto us

(Jeremiah 29:11-12)

The Lord’s Prayer

For thine is the kingdom,

And the power,

And the glory, for ever.

Amen.

And Amen!!!
