TIME

Weighs heavy on my mind.
TIME
Perhaps our most precious commodity.
TIME
A Convenient TIME
And as he reasoned of righteousness,
Temperance, and judgment to come,
Felix trembled, and answered,
Go thy way for this time;
When I have a convenient season,
I will call for thee
Acts 24:25
Paul has testified to Felix and his wife.
Though Felix recognized Paul’s word to be true…
Right then was not “convenient”.
Have you ever spoken to someone of Jesus?
They knew your words to be true
But… “I will wait for a more convenient…”
TIME
What about us?
“I will put forth my disciplines
At a more convenient TIME.”
“The Call of God on my life
Will be fulfilled
At a more convenient
TIME
I beseech you brethren!
Let us instead
Redeem the TIME
5 See then that ye walk circumspectly,
Not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time,
Because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:15-16
“I will be strong in the Lord someday.”
No! Today is the day!
Redeem the TIME
Put your shoulder to the wheel
Today!!!
TIME
9 And, behold,
I send the promise of my Father upon you:
But tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem,
Until ye be endued with power from on high.
Luke 24:49
Tarry: wait with expectancy
The disciples were to tarry in Jerusalem.
Most say they were in the Upper Room
Seven to ten days!!!
When was the last time YOU and I
Tarried… waited with expectancy
On the Lord!
You may hear/read of someone spending a full day
But! Seven days?! Ten days?!
TIME
I know. That was back in the Bible.
Azusa Street lasted some THREE years!!!
Meetings continued for seven years!
Oh. Okay.
You want recent?
Asbury Revival was 16 days!!!
TIME
Life was on hold!
All their attention
(in each of these situations)
Was on seeking the Lord.
Do you want something that seems more doable?
And he cometh unto the disciples,
And findeth them asleep,
And saith unto Peter,
What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
41 Watch and pray,
That ye enter not into temptation:
The spirit indeed is willing,
But the flesh is weak.
Matthew 26:40-41
One hour of prayer!
When was the last time we spent an hour?
Uninterrupted.
If you read much on the blog
Or talk with me
You have probably heard me encourage consistency.
And that is the most important ingredient.
But if we want to grow…flourish…
Be used of God😉
An hour a day should be our norm.
TIME
We give excess of this precious commodity
To everything but!
Hobbies. Work. Studies. Chores.
Friends. YouTube. Social media.
We rarely TAKE TIME
But even when TIME is available
We fill it some other way.
Thinking about fasting.
Did we give our “meal TIME”
Focused on Jesus?
Intentional.
He awakes us for a night watch.
Sleep is needed.
Tomorrow is busy.
Here. I will give Him a moment.
Wait. Please.
I do not have this mastered.
I am human too.
TIME
But recently
And I share this with heaviness of heart
I inquired of the Lord
“How do I dwell in the Center of One God?!”
“How do I stay in the FLOW?!”
“How do I not ‘visit’ the Deep, but stay There?!”
I waited.
I listened.
Gently. Quietly. I heard…
Wait…Tarry…
Not once but make it a Lifestyle.
This is not about living in a cave.
It’s not about letting life pass by.
No.
Create Space.
We all can.
We simply choose not to.
Be still, and know that I am God: Psalms 46:10
The average church altar call is seven and a half minutes.
TIME. Tarry.
The average prayer meeting?
Probably 30-45 minutes.
What do we think is the average devotional time?
I know. I get it.
Life is going faster than a locomotive at full speed😉
But we want God to save our loved ones,
Heal our land,
Give our churches revival,
Help us evangelize…
And so much more.
He should do major souls saving
On our “fast food drive thru” prayers.
TIME
My friend

TIME. Tarry. Wait on the Lord.
