The Master’s Mentoring
Ten years ago
When I was called into
The ministry of intercession
I was, shall I say,
Clueless😉
The Lord had invited me
To be a woman of prayer
At least 25 years before that.
But intercession?
What did that involve?
What did intercession consist of?
Jesus had me!
Right where I was at!
There has been no mentor in human form for me.
At times I cried out to the Lord.
Someone to ask questions to.
To share struggles with.
Figuring out if I was “normal”.
I read books:
John Hyde
Andrew Murray
Abel Clary
Daniel Nash
Charles Finney
I learned of Shirley Cole.
Other writings and modern-day speakers
Gave me nuggets along the way.
Josh Herring
Caleb Herring
Jason Sciscoe
The Master’s Mentoring
This blog is mainly about
ALL things prayer.
Not simply ‘intercession’.
I have written some simple books
Mostly on prayer.
There have been opportunities to teach small groups.
Always on prayer😊
But if you are near and dear to me
You understand
Intercession is my Jam! 😊
To some degree I must say
It has been through
The School of Hard Knocks 😊
That is not a complaint.
But now I enjoy investing in others😊
Randomly or in group settings.
I love talking/teaching
All things prayer!
Like everything else
It is nice to have someone
To “hash” things out with.
The Master’s Mentoring
With all that said
I understand
What it is like to not have a human mentor.
If you are that person
And want someone to share with

But I digress 😉
Jesus has been my Mentor!
He has walked me through every valley
Over every mountain
And He has been Present
In every storm.
The Lord Knows exactly what I need
When I need it.
I do feel bad when it seems
I am having to relearn a lesson.
Or I am thick-headed about the newest class.
If He ever decides that I could use a human
He will send the right mentor
At the right time.
The Master’s Mentoring
This might not be my typical post.
But it is a word of encouragement😊
Wherever you are at
In your prayer journey
God has got you!
It’s okay to ask Jesus for a human mentor.
But if the Almighty doesn’t do that for you
He will be exactly what you need!
When we are empowered by the Holy Ghost
He will teach us all things
That we must know 😊
Right on time.
Let Jesus Direct you to
Biblical accounts
Moses and Abraham
Esther and Mordecai
Anna and Simeon
To name a few.
Search out the Scriptures
Prayer, intercession, supplication
To start with.
Read books
Especially the older men and women
E.M. Bounds
Brother Lawrence
Leonard Ravenhill
And most importantly!!!
Sit with Jesus
In Solitude
Close the Door
Commune
Listen
Let Him Speak
And always…
Write
Keep a journal
Of the high moments? Yes!
But more importantly
The struggles
The rough spots
Writing and rereading what you write
Will help you sort through it all
AND Learn about God, yourself, and prayer!
Start where you are
Add fasting
And of course, Bible reading/study
But DO IT!! Today…tomorrow…and next week…
The Master’s Mentoring
Jesus wants us to pray!
It is a Mandate!
Simply start.
Go on your way.
He will Help each of us.
Wherever we are at.
The Lord Knows
What we Need!
When we need it.
Ask. Trust. Lean on Him.
He Knows the Way that we take.
